Reports
Export accounting CSV files
Map income and expense entries, payments, reversals, and US rental sales tax records for your accountant.
Open Finance → Reports → Accounting export, set the company date range, then download each file you need and select Download field mapping. Keep the mapping document with the files you share. The four downloads are independent: income, expenses, payments, and sales_tax.
Every file is UTF-8 CSV with English headers, comma separators, CRLF line endings, ISO dates (YYYY-MM-DD) in the company's time zone, and money in major units with exactly two decimal places, a decimal point, and no currency symbol. The currency column identifies the currency code, such as USD. Quoted text can contain commas or newlines. User-supplied text beginning with spreadsheet formula characters is escaped with a leading apostrophe. The first line is always a header, including when no records match.
The inclusive from/to range applies separately to each file's event date. Dates are resolved in the company's configured timezone, including daylight saving changes. Rows are sorted by date and UUID. Each file is limited to 10,000 rows; shorten the period if a larger download fails.
income.csv and expenses.csv
These files contain one row per non-deleted income or expense entry. They include open, partially paid, paid, and canceled entries; recurring projections are excluded until they become actual entries. An entry with multiple installments appears once. income is filtered by the income date and expenses by the expense date. Neither date proves a formal invoice was issued.

payments.csv
This file contains one row per recorded payment, including partial receipts, payments to suppliers, direct category payments, and reversals. A reversal has its own id, references the original in original_payment_id, and has negative amount columns. direction remains INFLOW or OUTFLOW on both the original and reversal; apply direction and the signed amount together. Do not add base_amount and discount_amount to amount: amount is the actual cash movement, while the discount is forgiven principal.

sales_tax.csv — US only
This file has one row per sales tax event recorded on a US rental. INVOICED plus ADJUSTED rows describe billed tax and taxable base; RECEIVED plus REVERSED rows describe net received tax and taxable base. The taxable_base and tax columns are signed amounts in major currency units. A row's event_date comes from an operational timestamp and is not a tax return period or an accountant-approved recognition date. The tax ledger currently has no historical backfill.

Reimport and reconciliation
Use id as the deduplication key for each file. A later edit can change the amount, category, or status of an entry with the same ID. Decide with your accountant whether a reimport updates an existing record or requires a correction entry. For payments, retain the original and reversal as separate rows even when they fall in different export periods. Do not add the four files together: the payment and tax rows refer to activity on income and expense entries; they are not additional income or expense.
Deleted entries are excluded from income and expenses, but their earlier payments and tax rows may still appear in payments and sales_tax. This export does not include bank statements, projected recurring entries, attachments, formal invoice PDFs, account opening balances, or a chart of accounts. A bank export or a ledger movement is not an accounting invoice.
This CSV is an accountant handoff, not native QuickBooks synchronization. We have not verified an import into any QuickBooks product or version with sales tax configured. Test the exact QuickBooks product and version your accountant uses with the fictional sample, confirm the field mapping and totals, and obtain your accountant's decision on tax jurisdiction, accounting basis, classification, and recognition dates before routine import.
